“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” Matthew 28:6

Not only did Jesus take our sin upon that cross, He was resurrected so that we can be resurrected to new life; and our hope is in Him! The entire Holy Week experience at Calvary was overwhelmingly amazing!

Monday, we kicked off the week with “The Road to the Resurrection.” We took a massive ‘geek-out’ session focused on the last week of Jesus’ life! Just reflecting on what Jesus did in His last week on earth is humbling…He washed feet, He continued to love others, and He kept pointing the disciples and others to the Father!

Wednesday, we had to pivot to a digital version of the “Christ in the Passover” from Jews for Jesus. Another reminder that God has a plan for Israel, which we know the enemy wants nothing more than to interrupt the plan of God. We continue to stand with Israel, praying for our brothers and sisters. To close this service, we had such a moving time of prayer! Our focus was to pray for the broken, hurting, and the lost of our community.

Good Friday, we gathered for our Song & Scripture Service. Being reminded that in the moments of life that are devastating, painful, and full of grief; we are called to biblical fellowship. Just as the disciples were together those 3 days, we are called to Choose Together as a community of faith.

SUNDAY! We held 5 services—which a good friend reminded me: “don’t count down how many service are left, count up the opportunities that are left!” The challenge from Matt 28, if the death and resurrection of Jesus was just as He said; what does He say about me? Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus AND our faith in Him, we were reminded:

  • We are a child of God.
  • We are a friend of Jesus.
  • We are set free in Christ.
  • We are loved by God!

I want to take a moment to celebrate and appreciate everyone who served the Calvary family, so many giving up their Easter morning to be the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus! Lastly, a special shout-out to our amazing staff at Calvary—thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord and His bride!

Hope to see you next Sunday as we jump back into our study through the book of Genesis! Reminder: after 3rd service, we will have our Connect Sunday for anyone new to Calvary!

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Nick
