Who is Jesus?

A relationship with JESUS is the MOST important relationship we can have!

To start a relationship with Jesus is not difficult. Jesus’ heart and mission is to seek and save us, and to invite us to come to Him in faith. Jesus’ call to us is to trust and believe in Him. Having a relationship with Jesus is based on His grace, through faith. So, Jesus is absolutely willing to have a relationship with us.

Here’s a few things we need to know:

OUR RELATIONSHIP IS BROKEN
‍Because of our sin against God, the wrong things we have done; we are separated from God and can’t have a relationship with Jesus. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23‍

‍YOU ARE UNABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM
‍Because of our sin barrier, we cannot overcome this through our own efforts. There’s nothing we can do to restore the broken relationship with God. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8-9

GOD LOVES YOU
‍Because of God’s love for everyone, He desires to have unbroken fellowship with us.“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
‍
GOD SENT HIS SON JESUS
‍Because God loves us in spite of our sins, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us. He sacrificed Himself for us while we were still separated from Him. He chose to take the punishment that we deserved. He took our place!“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8‍

‍YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS THROUGH FAITH
‍Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for us to restore our relationship with God. Faith involves turning away from sin and is allowing Jesus to live through us. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” Acts 16:31“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9-10‍

‍YOU CAN START A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS
‍You can receive Jesus by faith, beginning a relationship with Him this very moment, right where you are, as you say these words to Jesus! You can express your faith in Jesus by praying a prayer like this:

Jesus, I give You my life; thank You for saving me! I believe in You, Your life, Your death on the cross, and Your resurrection. Forgive me of my sins, fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lead me and teach me to follow You! I ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen!
