Calvary Groups are sermon-based communities designed to help us live out the mission of Kingdom Before Calvary, Jesus Over Everything. These groups go beyond Bible study, focusing on spiritual growth through shared discipleship, prayer, and intentional relationships. As we reflect on God’s Word together, Calvary Groups become the primary place where encouragement, accountability, and foundational care for one another take place. Through life together, participants grow in faith and learn to put Jesus at the center of every area of life.
Our Approach to Life Groups
Our approach to Life Groups is a relational format where a small group gathers around God’s Word together. Each group centers its discussion on the message from the weekend service, creating unity in what we are learning as a church family. We provide discussion notes drawn from the most recent message to help guide conversation. Together, groups open Scripture, pray, and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance as they apply biblical truth and practical application points to everyday life. We choose a message-based Life Group model because it reflects the pattern seen in the book of Acts. It records principles that demonstrate the homes were not only the place for transformational times of discipleship, but also a place for personal application in smaller groups after a main message went out. Acts records multiple times where the message went out in a public place or large crowds, then was explained further or applied after the message in a smaller group setting.
